V1-07 Does Obedience Really Matter?
Does our obedience really matter? If so, who must obey? Individuals? Nations? Christians? Everyone? Are there consequences for choosing to obey or disobey God? If so, do these consequences only affect individuals, or can there be consequences for nations as well? These are just some of the questions to consider in this week’s edition of the Walking Talking Bible Project.

Memory Passage: Psalm 119:11
Psalm 119:11
11 I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You.
Connection Passage #1: Deuteronomy 6:4–9
Deuteronomy 6:4–9
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One.
5 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
6 These words I am commanding you today are to be upon your hearts.
7 And you shall teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
8 Tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
9 Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.
Connection Passage #2: Proverbs 22:17–18
Proverbs 22:17–18
17 Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise— apply your mind to my knowledge—
18 for it is pleasing when you keep them within you and they are constantly on your lips.
Connection Passage #3: Deuteronomy 11:13–21
Deuteronomy 11:13–21
13 So if you carefully obey the commandments I am giving you today, to love the LORD your God and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,
14 then I will provide rain for your land in season, the autumn and spring rains, that you may gather your grain, new wine, and oil.
15 And I will provide grass in the fields for your livestock, and you will eat and be satisfied.
16 But be careful that you are not enticed to turn aside to worship and bow down to other gods,
17 or the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you. He will shut the heavens so that there will be no rain, nor will the land yield its produce, and you will soon perish from the good land that the LORD is giving you.
18 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
19 Teach them to your children, speaking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
20 Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates,
21 so that as long as the heavens are above the earth, your days and those of your children may be multiplied in the land that the LORD swore to give your fathers.
Connection Passage #4: Psalm 119:133
Psalm 119:133
133 Order my steps in Your word; let no sin rule over me.
